The brief was simple, the client’s request was to design a stylish spa. However this residential design was on a whole new level, more in keeping with a spa for a luxury hotel.
The role of lighting in a public area is crucial to the visitor of the space at night time. Good public lighting encourages longer usage of the public spaces, generating more revenue and value to the space.

The first challenge in this project, was to transform a static boundary wall into something attractive that creates interest on the people driving or walking by the area.
With an unique architecture style, the facade lighting for the boutique hotel should be at least as grand as the architecture. The facade is formed with a series of triple porticos giving depth and tridimensionality to the design.
The design intent is to utilize lighting to help create a comfortable environment with a warm and inviting feel, without overpowering the space.
The fusion between West and East. That was the brief from the client, how our lighting approach would respond to that? Our scope was only to work at the external main entrance, external dining patio, dining tents and bar.
Set in the heart of Dubai Hills Estate, the lighting scheme designed for “La Serre Restaurant and the sports bar”, was aimed to create a space that causes emotions, with low level lighting, but taking treasured elements from the contemporary look and feel of both spaces.
The facade lighting scheme had to represent and contain all of those elements mentioned above to be able to be up to date with the hotel's expectation.
